本片忠實的呈現日軍攻擊珍珠港的始末。影片一開始就精確的描述美日雙方的戰力。日本帝皇決定要展開攻擊，但美軍高級將領卻不把這當成一回事；他們雖然攔截了日軍的通訊，但卻把這項重要消息壓了下來，甚至對雷達上的警訊也視而不見，連發現日軍強大的海軍艦隊逼近珍珠港時都未警覺到事情的嚴重性。最後終於爆發珍珠港事件，美軍在毫無戒備下，損失慘重，太平洋艦隊幾乎全軍覆沒。

Good for a single disc release Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I must first say that I also own the 2 Disc Region 1 release, which has many extras this release doesn't. Missing are the making-of-documentary, AMC Backstory on the film, Fox Newsreels, etc. But it DOES include the running commentary with American Director Richard Fleischer and a historian. It's actually a pretty good comentary, and if you turn on the Japanese subtitles AND the commentary track the Japanese subtitles will be translating the commentary track. If you have the commentary track turned off, the the subtitles will be for the film's soundtrack. Pretty cool.

The transfer is very good, although the Japanese dialog sounds different somehow. Not as dynamic sounding as on the U.S. release. As with the Region 1 release, the Intermission is in place, appearing directly after the camera zooms into the calender with the date December 7th, 1941.

It's a good release for those who read and understand Japanese, and just as good if your native language is Japanese. If your primary language is English though, the Region 1 2 Disc set is far superior.
