第5話
前往「本能寺之變」出陣的有山姥切國廣、三日月宗近、宗三左文字、不動行光、壓切長谷部、藥研藤四郎。宗三左文字與不動行光雖然一起行動，但在途中就走散了。之後，宗三左文字找到了不動行光，對他訴說起自己還是刀劍樣態時期的記憶，但時間溯行軍竟在此時現身。其後，壓切長谷部與藥研藤四郎也與他們會合，刀劍男士們共同迎擊敵人。就在此時，過去曾與不動行光一起相處過的森蘭丸，竟從旁走過…

第6話
「本能寺之變」終於發生了。藥研藤四郎對這次的任務抱有疑問，宗三左文字的神情一直很難看，而壓切長谷部則對著他們說「你們必須正面面對織田信長的故事」。聽到這些話的不動行光因覺得「自己是把廢刀」而十分沮喪。面對織田信長的各種不同想法互相交織著，與此同時，森蘭丸也被明智光秀所率領的軍隊包圍，而前來搭救他的則是時間遡行軍。

第7話
本能寺因為時間溯行軍所施展的把戲而成了一個迷宮。森蘭丸也因為溯行軍的關係而化身成妖獸，宗三左文字與不動行光對其展開攻擊，蘭丸雖身受重傷，仍然拼死追向逃跑的明智光秀，不動行光嘗試說服蘭丸停手，蘭丸卻充耳不聞。已經瘋狂的蘭丸與刀劍男士們僵持不下，但溯行軍卻將蘭丸的身體給重重包圍…

第8話
不動行光取代已經喪生的森蘭丸，在後方不停追趕著明智光秀，並努力要斬殺光秀。宗三左文字、壓切長谷部、藥研藤四郎則在與時間溯行軍交戰的同時，在後方不停追趕著不動行光。不動行光終於將光秀逼到絕境，但他因為自己身為刀劍男士必須完成使命，內心產生激烈糾結。就在此時，他也回想起自己還是刀劍樣態時，與蘭丸相處的那段記憶…
