New-generation singer-songwriter Yui's latest 15-track album My Short Stories collects all her B-side (coupling) tracks to date plus a brand new song, making for a great rundown of sweet and earthy pop rock. Yui begins telling her short stories with the new song I'll be, a CM campaign song for Sony Walkman. Other highlights of the compilation include her recent B-sides Oh My God and I wanna be..., Song to the Sun insert song Skyline, and her 2004 indie single It's happy line which was later coupled with Good-bye Days and featured as an insert song in Song to the Sun. Dog in a Sidecar theme song Understand, which was released as a double A-side with My Generation but not included in the I Loved Yesterday album, also makes a welcome appearance on My Short Stories.

If you listen to YUI, then From Me To You, Can't Buy My Love, I Loved Yesterday, and My Short Stories need to be in your library and that is all there is to it. What I really like about this group is that each song that she's released is on a studio album. Maybe not the acoustic versions, but all the A sides are somewhere in the first three albums and all the B sides are in My Short Stories.

I call it the conclusion of an era and not the end of an era because it's kind of the album that wraps up that first round of joy that began with Feel My Soul.

Although I have all her singles this brings it all together plus a new song. It's also got great bonus' so this is a must for all YUI fans. I hope she feels rested to tackle 2009 head on and bring us new awesome new tracks.

As most of you know, YUI has a special voice and some think she is childish.
However I rather say it's special, and you have to see through the "sound" itself, because this girl knows how to sing and write songs!
I'm happy to see that she decided to release all her B-side tracks onto and album, because they are as good as all her A-sides ones.
I have many favorites, among them: Crossroad, Driving today, Why me, Last train and Happy line~~
You can hear it clear that they were recorded at different ages, because of her voice.
And there are mixed tempo, as usual! but since she writes all the music and lyrics herself, all the songs fits!

This album is a extra album, since YUI needs the rest of 2008 to relax and recover..and comeback even stronger in 2009.
However this was a happy surprise for all YUI fans and YUI doesnt say farwell with tears, she brings joy!
For all YUI fans this album is a MUST HAVE!

The Limited edition comes with a DVD, which is great.. lots to see and listen to!
