15 K-Pop Summer Songs for Your Summer Playlist

Written by YumCha! Editorial Team Tell a Friend

Considering K-pop's abundance of sexy concepts and hot dance tracks, there's no better musical match for the summer. Here are 15 of our favorite K-pop jams for the hottest days of summer!

1. HyunA - Bubble Pop
Known as the rapper of 4Minute, HyunA shows off her vocal talents in Bubble Pop!, the title track of her 2011 solo debut mini-album. With its controversially racy choreography, the energetic electro synth pop dance number is one of the most viewed K-pop music videos on YouTube. The hot summer jam makes you want to shake your body on a beach along with the fun autotuned "Ooh ah ooh ah ooh" and the addictive hook "Bubble bubble bubble pop!"

2. Girl's Day - Darling
Girl's Day continues their sexy concept while retaining their early cute style in the fresh Darling released in 2014. Twirling to the retro-style brass melody and exciting shuffle rhythm, they make a lovely confession of love in the lively jazz-influenced pop number. Adorable lyrics like "You fly and sit on my heart like a butterfly / You shoot love at me like a bee" also create the feeling of teenage summer love.

3. 2NE1 - Falling in Love
2NE1's 2013 digital single Falling in Love is everything we love about the group's music condensed into a summer love song. A fusion of electronic, reggae and hip-hop, the song readily shifts tones and tempos as it curls through sensual verses, fierce rapping, EDM interludes and a youthful refrain. Bonus: Lee Soo Hyuk and Hong Jong Hyun in the music video.

4. AOA - Good Luck
AOA always surprises fans with their ever-changing styles, and this summer, they transformed into sexy lifeguards for Good Luck. The seven girls send a confident message of female empowerment in the upbeat pop dance number backed by strong beats and throbbing bass riffs. Let's join AOA's girl power beach party!

5. Block B - H.E.R.
Released in the summer of 2014, Block B's H.E.R departs from the group's harder hip-hop sound for a wild and fun blend of rock, jazz, gospel and rap, underlined with that surf-pop reverberating electric guitar. This infectious, irreverent jam plays well any time of the year, but it feels especially right for dancing around like crazy in the summer – which is basically what the guys do in the song's hilariously random music video.

6. f(x) - Hot Summer
Summer songs are usually meant to beat the searing heat, but f(x)'s 2011 Hot Summer only makes you hotter! Adapted from German girl group Monrose's hit summer jam, the upbeat EDM pop number features powerful synth sounds and beats. A Japanese version of the song was also released the following year.

7. Sistar - Loving U
"Summer Queen" Sistar takes you to sunny Hawaii with the chill EDM number Loving U from their 2012 summer special album. The energetic love song expresses the nervousness and excitement of a girl falling in love. A vacation mood is created by the breezy melody and Sistar's refreshing high notes. The summer anthem ranked third on Billboard's 2012 Year-End K-pop Hot 100 Chart, and marked the beginning of the group's summer domination.

8. Sistar - I Swear
Besides Touch My Body, Sistar also dropped I Swear to heat up the summer of 2014. Composed by Duble Sidekick, the house-style dance number follows the breezy feeling of Loving U. On a beautiful beach in Saipan, the four summer girls swear their love under the sun while performing a hula-style dance to the punchy and fun brass-fueled tune.

9. Infinite - In the Summer
Idol summer songs are usually expected to be uptempo dance numbers, but Infinite offers the warm and wistful medium-tempo ballad "In the Summer" in their 2012 mini-album Infinitize. Likening sunshine to a loved one, the summer song has a nimble melody with a pleasant guitar-driven arrangement and lively beats. The song's showcase of the group's vocal abilities has also helped to make it a fan favorite. Last month, Infinite released a sweet sequel to this song titled "That Summer (Second Story)."

10. Jay Park - My Last
The AOMG rat pack of Jay Park, Gray, Loco and Cha Cha Malone offers the ideal song to chill out to in the balmy, easygoing My Last. Released last summer, the R&B/rap number coasts on relaxing beats and a sweet, silky refrain directed towards that special girl. With its light, laid-back vibe, this is a song that makes you want to just lean back and relax on the beach.

11. Girls' Generation - Party
Let's go Party with Girls' Generation! The funky bass sounds, whistles, autotuned vocals and catchy synth cheer you up and help you get away from your busy lives. Released last year, the catchy dance pop number is a perfect song for all beach lovers.

12. B1A4 - Solo Day
Released in summer 2014, B1A4's refreshing Solo Day applies a carefree, feel-good mood to a song about breaking up and being solo. The breezy country pop-style number written and composed by leader Jin Young invites you to hit the road and enjoy your Solo Day, and don't forget to whistle along the way.

13. DJ DOC - Summer Story
DJ DOC has given us quite a few hyperactive hits in their two-decade career, and in 1996, K-pop's original party animals served up the seasonal favorite "Summer Story." One of the group's most famous songs, the fun bop mixes dense nineties-style high-pitched rapping with mischievous beats, mellow cheers and a tropical arrangement that screams summer.

14. Cool - Woman on the Beach
Before Sistar, there was Cool. The nineties group put out a variety of music throughout the seasons, but they're most associated with summer thanks to all their ridiculously fun and exuberant singalong dance songs. "Woman on the Beach" from the 1997 album Summer Story declares in the opening line, "Summer time! I want to let you feel the summer time!" and it succeeds handily with this happy-go-lucky beach boogie.

15. Big Bang - Sunset Glow
Big Bang's 2008 remake of Lee Moon Sae's "Sunset Glow" updates the classic eighties ballad into a brand new song that's undeniably young, fresh and catchy. Transformed by a new arrangement and rap lyrics that embrace the group's characteristic mix of hip-hop, pop and electronic, the title song of Big Bang's second album is among the group's most buoyant, with a live-for-the-moment energy that inspires you to run barefoot into the sunset.
