After their successful summer comeback with DUMDi DUMDi, (G)I-DLE geared back up in bold and fierce fashion for their fourth mini-album I burn.

(G)I-DLE sets the bar high with the stunning intro HANN (Alone in Winter) (Track 1), which sets the mysterious wintry aura of the album. This theme is also meant to connect to their 2018 single HANN. Landing at #1 on various music charts, HWAA (Track 2) takes the Chinese characters of "fire" and "flower" as motifs to project the pain of breakup. So Yeon creates another masterpiece that blends Moombahton-based pop dance with traditional East Asian music and sentiments. Though it isn't as catchy as their previous title tracks, HWAA is the best (G)I-DLE song for showing the different vocal timbre and singing tone of each member. HWAA has an unspeakable charm – it's a song that you get more addicted to the more you listen to it!

Apart from So Yeon, Minnie is also one of the songwriters of the group. This time, she brings two excellent side tracks: MOON (Track 3) and DAHLIA (Track 6). Disco pop MOON depicts their wish to hide from the spotlight and release their true feelings. Meanwhile, Moombahton pop number DAHLIA describes falling for a beautiful and seductive love that also brings greed and instability.

Yuqi collaborates with producer TENTEN for LOST (Track 5), a moody plug with a jazzy R&B ambience that soulfully unveils the complex emotion of losing love and feeling lost afterwards. Besides creating the intro and HWAA, So Yeon took part in writing lyrics for all the other tracks, and co-composed the retro pop dance song Where is Love (Track 4) about the emptiness we feel after breakup.

(G)I-DLE never disappoints with their music, and this time in I burn, the members have taken an even bigger part in song production and writing. Their high quality of music, their performance, their style – everything is amazing. Can't wait for their first full-length album!
