Loona Mini Album Vol. 2 - # (Limited A Version)
Loona's butterfly effect

The worldview and captivating concept story behind every Loona release has been one of the most fun things about stanning them, but their catchy songs also can't be overlooked. They amaze with their bad girl energy in their latest album # and title track So What (Track 2).

The Loona girls bring a "girl crush" style for the first time in the urban dance number So What, which encourages us to step out of the box and break boundaries ("Speaking sharply, so what? / Acting cold, so what? / Going fearless, so what?"). The hook of "I'm so bad! I'm so bad!" is such a remarkable start for the song, and it keeps repeating throughout the tune so that you just can't get it out of your head! From the rich layers of instrumentals and background vocals in the track, you can tell that song production and arrangements have obviously been upgraded since their last release. The structure and sound of So What resemble the style of ITZY's Icy and Nature's Oopsie (My Bad), but Loona's intense voices shape the whole song in a more confident and assuring way.

If I have to pick a flaw from this album, it would be the sudden change from the edgy sounds in So What to the soft tunes in the rest of the album. The next song, the dreamy mid-tempo R&B Number 1 (Track 3), gives off a retro feel with its 808 bass beats, while Oh (Yes I Am) (Track 4) is a positive, refreshing song about searching for the hidden infinite possibilities in oneself.

Loona makes hearts flutter in the sweet and rhythmical dance plug Ding Ding Dong (Track 5) about waiting for loved ones to come to them. Pre-release single 365 (Track 6), which is their first fan song, melts hearts with its soothing R&B ballad melody and emotional lyrics that express their gratitude to Orbits. The Limited Edition albums also come with the future house bonus track Day & Night, an addictive B-side that matches well with the album concept.

Getting to know the complex Loonaverse might be hard, but just their music is already a strong reason to become an Orbit! Song-wise and concept-wise, # marks a breakthrough in Loona's music journey.
