Last year, Red Velvet's Joy surprised us with her hit song "Introduce Me a Good Person" from the Hospital Playlist OST. This year, she accompanies our summer days with the special remake album Hello for her official solo debut!

Joy says goodbye to lonely days and welcomes sunny days in life with the modern rock title track "Hello" (Track 1). Carrying the dual meanings of "hello" and "goodbye," Annyeong (the Korean title of "Hello") is a remake of Park Hye Kyoung's "Good Bye," and encourages listeners to start their days with positivity. Kenzie's arrangement, along with Joy's bright tone, adds a more dynamic energy to the heartening anthem. When listening to Joy's rendition, you can totally picture her running freely on grassland, embracing the sunshine. She also shows a noticeable improvement in singing skills, performing the powerful vocal parts and high notes effortlessly.

Joy's honey voice is perfect for love songs. ButterFly's Hwang Seong Je gives the jazzy Je T'aime (Track 2) (originally by Hey) a makeover into a classical, orchestral piece, and Joy's sweet timbre just makes it even more ethereal. The album gives off a more emotional ambience with Day By Day (Track 3), one of female duo As One's representative hits. Rearranged by minGtion, the groovy R&B ballad expresses the desire for her love to wait for her as she slowly expresses her feelings.

Joy turns Sung Si Kyung's "It Would Be Good" into a duet with Paul Kim in "If Only" (Track 4). As expected from producer Hwang Hyun, the composition is polished with refreshing band sounds that are rich in sound but not overpowering, especially the enchanting flute melody in the bridge part. If the original version is about an unrequited love, then this duet version is about an unfulfilled romance between two friends.

Indie duo Lundi Blues brings an upbeat, youthful and rhythmical vibe to Happy Birthday To You (Track 5), a remake of Kwon Jin Won's same-titled song, and Joy's delightful vocals further lighten up the mood. Joy also collaborates with rising retro sensation Park Moon Chi in the synthpop "Be There For You" (Track 6) (Toy's "Whenever"), which plainly tells her loved ones that they can always count on her.

The six tracks from Hello are so different from other song covers Joy has released before. She's picked six beautiful and refreshing oldies that best suit her sweet velvety voice and lovable character. She's done it – she brought joy to us with Hello!
