YesAsia Editorial Description

In the late 1960s, Northern California was terrorized by a notorious killer who dubbed himself "Zodiac", taunting the police with letters and encrypted messages, while also leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. Director David Fincher (Seven, Fight Club) brings the story of the Zodiac Killer to the big screen in the acclaimed thriller Zodiac, which details the true story of the investigators who made it their mission to bring Zodiac to justice. Fincher and his team spent well over a year researching the film, even conducting their own investigations in order to deliver the most accurate cinema portrayal of the events surrounding the Zodiac Killer.

Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Robert Graysmith, a cartoonist at the San Francisco Chronicle drawn into the Zodiac Killer investigation when he receives encrypted messages supposedly sent by Zodiac. Meanwhile, San Francisco police detectives Dave Toschi (Mark Ruffalo) and Bill Armstrong (Anthony Edwards) launch their own investigation, crossing paths with crime reporter Paul Avery (Robert Downey, Jr.), as well as other investigators, beginning an investigation that would span nearly three decades. A riveting and uncommon studio release, Zodiac is a film of great integrity, eschewing Hollywood-style grandstanding for a multi-layered piece that's fascinating and exacting in its detail. Zodiac is a compelling police procedural, a disturbing serial killer thriller, and a revealing study of the obsession required to discover the truth. Highly anticipated by both critics and cineastes alike, the film screened in competition at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.

    Director: David Fincher

The rampage of a madman who has never been caught the elusive cipher slayer who gripped the nation in fear, America's very own Jack the Ripper. He publicly claimed 13 victims, then more, two dozen more. Police pinned him with seven, five dead. The true body count may never be known. One thing is certain: That count includes the living.

A shy editorial cartoonist, Graysmith didn't have the cache and expertise of his seasoned and cynical colleague Paul Avery (Robert Downey Jr.), the San Francisco Chronicle's star crime reporter. He didn't have Avery's connections with San Francisco Police Department's celebrated and ambitious Homicide Inspector David Toschi (Mark Ruffalo) and his low-key, meticulous partner Inspector William Armstrong (Anthony Edwards). What he did have was a crucial insight no one anticipated......

I cut it short for you. Do not waste your time going for Zodiac. If you like serial killer movies, i would recommend Silence of The Lamb, Bone Collector.. This movie is draggy and boring towards the end. This killer boasts to be so intelligent but when he appear in one of the scene, you will change your perception. What is that?
